2019 Elections

General Information

Unfortunately, during the nomination period from March 9th through March 15th, none of the nominees decided to move forward with the candidacy process. Due to this we will be following the special elections procedures defined in our constitution. The Board of Captains will be working with Hoofer Council and our advisors to determine the ideal dates for the election.

If you or someone you know missed this exciting opportunity, communication will be going out about the new election time frames following a determination by the Board of Captains. In the mean time feel free to review the position descriptions and benefits listed below.

There are many new and exciting changes to the election progress the club will be using to select our new leaders for the 2019-2020 term of office as a result of our recently passed constitutional amendment.

The major changes include:

  1. A one-week long voting period.
  2. Online Voting
  3. An additional elected official, the Rear Commodore, in addition to the Vice-Commodore and Commodore.

With these changes, we hope to maintain many of the aspects of our election process that are unique to the Hoofer Sailing Club within the Hoofers organization. Most important, we will host a town hall event where the candidates will give a speech on their platform and then answer questions from the members.
