Hoofer Sailing Club

The Hoofer Sailing Club Shop has facilities to perform sail repair, small engine repair, basic carpentry and metal fabrication, including welding. A sanding/spray booth provides the ability to perform fiber glass repairs and maintenance for the clubs smaller boats and motor boats. Additionally, the shop has the molds and facilities to create replacement rudders and thwarts for Techs and bunks for the sloop, tech and 420 carts.

Services the shop staff provide to the club include:

• Fiberglass repair and maintenance of the motor boats and smaller sailing boats
• Repair and maintenance of the club’s outboard motors
• Sail repair, including window and panel replacement
• Maintenance of lines and running rigging
• Fabrication of wire stays for smaller boats
• Fabrication and repairs of boat carts and bunks
• Maintenance of the club’s shore facilities, including winches, launch railroads, piers and decks

In addition to the pier in and pier out work parties overseen by the shop, additional volunteer opportunities arise during the season on projects within the shop. If interested in volunteering for shop projects, contact one of the shop heads.
